"Pollution norms such as Chemical Oxygen Deman (COD) and Biological Oxygen Demand (BOD) and other norms needed revision for industries," Noida Management Association president Dinesh Jain said today.
"These norms were fixed more than two decades ago. Several countries have already revised the standard norms and we should follow them," Jain said.
"Today we have sent a circular to all industries asking them not to wait for pollution control board to inspect and detect violation of norms in the unit. Pollution Control Regulatory Bodies thrust was only to collect revenue from the violators," Jain said.
Lal advised industrialists and residents to switch to Solar power and also reduce usage of vehicles.
"I appeal industrialists and people to keep law aside and abide by norms which protect environment. It's our responsibility to protect the environment," Lal said.
