The nomination of Nathu Singh and Shyam Singh was rejected yesterday during the scrutiny as they were not the official candidates of the party which they had mentioned in their documents, district collector N L Meena said.
According to him, both these candidates also had submitted educational certificates obtained from Pakistan and US with nomination papers and were not valid as per the guideline of the Panchayti Raj department.
Nathu Singh attached a class 10 certificate from Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education- Hyderabad in Pakistan and Shyam Singh submitted an educational document affiliated to a board of US for contesting election of Zila Parishad members, Meena said.
As per the provision, a candidate contesting the Zila Parishad or Panchayat Samiti polls should have the minimum qualification of passing class 10th from the state board of any approved institutions or board.
To contest the Sarpanch elections, a candidate should be class 8th pass from any school (general category).
However, in the scheduled area of panchayat, the candidate should have passed class 5th from a school to become a Sarpanch.
