Three persons, including a woman, died in lightning strikes at Lankamura, a village near Indo-Bangla international border at Ampi in Khowai district, and in North Tripura district yesterday, officials said here today.
The storms damaged about 5,000 houses and uprooted several electric posts and trees, they said.
The BSF and civil defence workers have distributed relief to affected people and were trying to restore the telecommunication lines.
