Normal life was thrown out of gear in parts of Rajasthan where mercury soared to 43.2 degrees Celsius in Barmer.
Heat wave conditions prevailed in the Jodhpur and Bikaner division.
Jaisalmer, Bikaner, Churu, Kota and Jodhpur recorded maximum of 42.7, 41.5, 41, 40.8 and 40.6 degrees respectively, while Dabok, Ajmer, Sriganganagar and Jaipur registered day temperature of 39.7, 39.3, 39 and 38.8 degrees, according to the Meteorological Department here.
The day temperatures are 2 to 4 degrees Celsius above normal. The heat conditions would continue to prevail during the next 24 hours, it said.
