There was delay of trains and road traffic was diverted yesterday to replace steel girders at the bridge at Madukkarai Railway Station yard on the outskirts, by Palakkad Divison of the Southern Railway.
The works were completed ahead of schedule, as the fourth and fifth concrete slabs had also been placed, completing the entire replacement of steel girders of the bridge, a division release said.
Consequently, normal rail and road traffic servies resumed today.
