The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) today detained North Goa's Additional Collector for allegedly taking a bribe of Rs 25,000 from a complainant.
Based on the complaint, the Goa police's ACB laid a trap and caught Additional Collector Sabaji Shetye while he was allegedly accepting the bribe.
"Shetye was trapped while accepting a bribe of Rs 25,000, which was a part of his demand of Rs 1.5 lakh to issue a no objection certificate to the complainant for obtaining a licence to store explosives," Superintendent of Police (ACB) Bosco George told PTI.
Shetye was detained, the SP said, adding that he was taken to the ACB headquarters at Altinho for questioning.
