The award was given to Vyas by the President of Sahitya Academy, Prof Vishwanath Prasad Tiwari, for his poetry collection 'Katha Soon Aave Hai Sabad'.
"People should not rue on the content of poetries being written in present times, as good poetries are being written even today," he said at OTS auditorium here.
Even scholars express disappointment and question what is being written in the name of poetry. But this is wrong, Vyas said.
He said the writer should leave some questions without giving the reply in the poem itself.
