Questions were raised about Atletico de Kolkata in the wake of Fikru Teferra's heated bust-up with teammate Jakub Podany but coach Antonio Habas finds "nothing wrong" in it as they have made it to the semi-final in the Indian Super League football tournament.
"It happens on field or while training, they just want to win the game. Nothing is wrong," Habas told reporters about the incident that happened in the 80th minute when Fikru got enraged following a miss pass from the Czech midfielder during their 1-1 draw with FC Goa.
The team also had some confusion about the penalty shooter as there were some animated discussions after the US referee Baldomero Toledo's dubious penalty in their favour handed them a lifeline.
Asked who's their preferred penalty shooter, Habas said: "Maybe both (Fikru and Luis Garcia)... But Fikru said he was more confident. By the way, we had Garcia and even Jofre (Fernandes) who had scored from spotkicks."
On the dubious penalty, he said: "Penalty is not lucky or unlucky. We are very happy with result, we go to semis. We want to play well and improve different things. We created many chances."
"We can only talk about our team. The credit goes to the players and also we want to thank the fans for their support," Habas said as the entire team made a 'victory lap' after they made the semis by virtue of their 1-1 draw.
Sounding a warning to FCG, Habas said:"We are expecting more tough game for Sunday. We will not be easy for the opponents."
ATK will face FCG in the home leg of the semi-final on Sunday before travelling to Goa for the return leg on December 17.
