Notification for 2nd phase of polling in UP to be out tomorrow

The nomination process for the second phase of Lok Sabha polls scheduled on April 17 in Uttar Pradesh would start after issuance of notification by the Election Commission tomorrow.
The filing of nominations for 11 districts in the state would start tomorrow immediately after issuance of notification at 11 am and the last date for the same is March 26, UP Chief Electoral Officer Umesh Sinha said.
The nominations would be scrutinised on March 27 while March 29 will be the last date for their withdrawal, he said.
In the second phase, Nagina, Moradabad, Rampur, Sambhal, Amroha, Badaun, Aonla, Bareilly, Pilibhit, Shahjahanpur, and Kehri constituencies would go to polls on April 17.
1.80 crore voters including 82.09 lakh women and 1,066 transgenders would exercise their franchise in the second phase, Sinha said.
There would be 12,366 polling centres and 18,910 polling booths would be set up for the polls, he added.
