After tickling the funny bone of the audiences, 'Dostana' duo Abhishek Bachchan and John Abraham are teaming up again, but this time for an action film, which is a remake of 2012 Tamil hit 'Vettai'.
The South film was written and directed by N Linguswamy and starred Arya, R Madhavan, Sameera Reddy and Amala Paul.
Earlier it was reported that Linguswami himself would direct the film and it would star Shahid Kapoor in the lead. But now Linguswami has been replaced by Abbas-Mustan.
"We will direct the film ('Vettai'). To suit the sensibilities of mass audience here we have made certain changes," the director duo said.
"Both Abhishek and John will be part of the film. They are doing the film. To see them together on screen is a treat for cine goers," Abbas-Mustan said.
As far as the leading lady is concerned, the hunt is still on. "We are yet to decide on the heroine in this film," the filmmakers said.
The original revolves around two brothers -- the elder being sensitive to violence and the younger being a jobless rogue. After the death of their father, a police officer, the elder brother takes on the same job.
How the brothers become a target of two gangs and how they protect their families forms the rest of the story.
"We think, since long time a film on two brothers is not being made in Bollywood. The plot of 'Vettai' is strong and shows the relationship between the two brothers which is great to see," the directors said.
UTV Motion Pictures, who were keen on the remake had approached Abbas-Mustan after working with them on 'Race 2'.
"UTV asked us to watch the film and when we saw it, we really liked the plot and agreed to do the film," Abbas-Mustan said. The shoot for this film is likely to begin next year.
