Naseruddin Shah, Shabana starrer of the 80s, realistic maker Parthasarathi Joardar now brings the musical in Bengali.
"Unlike the heavy duty star cast of the Hindi flick, Masoom in Bengali sees two debutants and there is the unmistakable love angle here too," Joardar, who make Kagozer Nouka, said.
"I have sought to portray how live-in partnership and sex can destroy two persons, their dreams and wishes but there is no scope to turn preachy in a feature," he said.
This is a reflection of the present day society where live-in partners and teenage sex are becoming norms, rather than exceptions.
