NPCC general secretary Medokul Sophie told PTI that the poster campaign demanding Imchen's immediate removal was launched throughout the state by the respective District Congress Committees this morning.
Except for Kohima, the campaign was progressing smoothly, he said adding that with the onset of the Hornbill Festival and scheduled visit of the President Pranab Mukherjee and other dignitaries, the Kohima District Administration has undertaken beautification drive and removed the posters from the prime areas.
Alleging that corrupt DAN leaders flocked together, the NPCC also demanded dismissal of the Naga People's Front (NPC) led Democratic Alliance of Nagaland (DAN) government.
The NPCC on November 13 submitted a representation to the Chief Minister and demanded dropping of Imchen from the Council of Ministers on allegations of his involvement in criminal activity on during the assembly elections.
Reaffirming the party's demand, Sophie said that the next phase would be sit-in-dharna in front of Nagaland Civil Secretariat on November 29 followed by 12-hour bandh on December 3.
