NPDCL yet to be compensated for work done at Medaram fairs

The Northern Power Distribution Company Ltd (NPDCL) is yet to be compensated Rs 2.4 crore dues by the state of Andhra Pradesh for work done at Medaram fairs in 2008, 2010 and 2012, sources said.
The week-long fest actually turns out to be loss making for the discom.
Of the Rs 2.4 crore dues, the state government owes Rs 1.3 crores to the discom for Medaram 2012.
Sources said that after 2012, tbe discom was not even repaid Rs 0.33 crore towards power charges for consuming 5.4 lakh units at the venue at the rate of Rs 9.49 per unit.
