The National Security Advisor, sources said, is believed to have discussed the rehabilitation and reconstruction efforts in the Valley due to the deluge last September that caused widespread destruction in the state.
Doval, who signed off the visit with a meeting with policemen, complimented them on being in the forefront of tackling militancy in the troubled state. No other state has faced such prolonged militancy, he said.
Doval, who was on his maiden trip to the state after taking over as NSA, held separate meetings with Deputy Chief Minister Nirmal Singh and Finance Minister Haseeb Drabu.
The NSA arrived here yesterday at a time when the state is reportedly witnessing increased radicalisation of the youths, manifest in repeated waving of Pakistani and ISIS flags at political rallies.
There have been other incidents like Hizbul Mujahideen militants audaciously posting their photographs and video on social networking sites, brandishing Kalashnikovs. There have also been reports of "huge funds" being pumped into the Valley from abroad for greater radicalisation to increase local recruitment of jihadists.
The NSA also held separate meetings with Lt Gen Subrata Saha, Corps Commander of 15 Corp, Director General of Police K Rajendra, Inspector General (Kashmir Range) S J M Gilani and IG (CID) A G Mir.
There was no official word on what transpired in any of these meetings.
