NSD introduces "Theatre-in-Education" course, first in Asia

Altogether 20 students are admitted to the one-year course initially, of which eight students are from Tripura and the rest from outside.

An interview board, headed by the coordinator of the course, Kirty Jain, the former director of NSD, selected the candidates, Director of NSD, Anuradha Kapur said.

Inaugurating the course last night, Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar said, "A few years ago when the NSD proposed to us the introduction of Theatre-in-Education, we had no clear idea about it. But today I understand that it is a historic day for the theatre lovers of the state and all credit goes to NSD.
