The National Small Industries Corporation aims 15 per cent growth in revenue to Rs 20,000 crore in the current fiscal.
"We had a business of Rs 17,400 crore in 2013-14 and we are aiming Rs 20,000 crore this year and we are on track for our target in the first half of the year," NSIC chairman and managing director Ravindra Nath said here today at an interactive session with MCC Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The corporation targets a profit of Rs 126 crore this fiscal against Rs 114 crore in 2013-14, he said.
NSIC had set up eight own incubation centres and 86 in PPP model for entrepreneur and skilled manpower development.
The agency had signed up an MoU with West Bengal for five incubation centres sometime in September, 2013 but they are yet to see the day of light as state is yet to provide infrastructure for the same.
"The MoU was signed in September 2013, and we are waiting for the state government's response to rollout," Nath said.
Assam had already rolled out one centre out of five proposed such centres.
Nath emphasised the need for credit rating of MSME entities after public procurement policy of the Centre comes in force from April next year.
He also said at the review meeting last year, NSIC had proposed that other agencies like banks should also be brought in to implement the rating agency of the government.
"We wanted that other agencies like banks should be brought into the picture to continue the rating scheme instead of us," Nath said.
