With four more cases of jaundice positive detected today, the number of afflicted persons this year in Cuttack mounted to 50.
However, unconfirmed reports claimed that more than hundred persons are suffering from the disease and many of them are resorting to traditional ways of treatment in the area instead of going to hospitals.
"All the four new cases are also from the worst affected areas of Jobra", informed CDMO Prafulla Behera adding that a mobile health camp would move around the locality from Friday to treat the patients at their doorsteps.
Meanwhile, political parties upped their ante targeting the local civic body authorities and the district administration for failing to check the spread of the disease in the city.
While a BJP delegation led by the State party vice president submitted a memorandum to the district collector, the Samajwadi Party workers staged a demonstration in front of the office of the local RDC office.
