New York City police say a 4-year-old boy who got behind the wheel of a van ran over a toddler, who's hospitalised in critical condition.
Police say the van was left running yesterday outside a licensed day care facility.
They say a day care provider was attending to another child in the van when the 4-year-old put the vehicle in reverse or neutral.
After striking the 2-year-old boy, the van rolled into a driveway across the street.
The toddler remained in critical but stable condition today. The Staten Island Advance reports that no charges were filed.
