Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi today termed US President Barak Obama's emphasis on religious tolerance as an indictment of 'growing religious intolerance' during Prime Minister Narendra Modi's rule.

"Obama's emphasis on religious tolerance is nothing but a clear indictment of growing religious intolerance during Modi's reign," Gogoi tweeted.

Making a strong pitch for religious tolerance, President Obama had yesterday said every person had the right to practise his faith without any persecution and fear or discrimination and that India would succeed so long it was not splintered on religious lines.
