Observance of Martyrs' Day at Assam Secretariat

The Assam government today observed Martyrs' Day on the 67th death anniversary of the Father of Nation Mahatma Gandhi and those who sacrificed their lives in the struggle for the country's freedom.
A two-minutes silence was observed at 11 AM in the premises of the Assam Secretariat here.
A gun salute was also given by a contingent of Assam police officials.
Floral tributes were also offered at the portrait of Mahatma Gandhi by Revenue Minister Dr Bhumidhar Barman along with other senior ministers and state government officials in the premises of the Secretariat.
