This was claimed at the power distribution review meeting chaired by chief secretary A P Padhi.
The chief secretary has directed all the DISCOMs (power distribution companies) to achieve 7 per cent reduction in AT & C loss in LT sector during the current year, an official release said.
The loss reduction during first for months has been more than 1.5 per cent in comparison to the corresponding period of the last year, it said.
During 1st four months of the current fiscal year, it has further been reduced around 1.5 per cent.
The reduction loss has been highest (21.27 per cent) in Ghatgaon sub-division under NESCO, a power distribution company, region followed by Gopalpur sub-division (20 per cent) under SOUTHCO and Kaurnumda subdivision (18.30 per cent) under WESCO, Sharma said.
