The approval was given at the meeting of Single Window Clearance Authority, chaired by chief secretary G C Pati, official sources said.
The proposal of Bahrain-based Midal Cables Limited for setting up a 60,000 tonnes per annum aluminium conductor manufacturing unit at the Aluminium Park in Angul was approved, they added.
The project would provide direct employment to 350 people and require investment of Rs 358.9 crore.
The government also gave its nod to a proposal of Kashvi International Private Limited to set up a pelletisation plant with an investment of Rs 152.77 crore at Jhumpura in Keonjhar, said Kalyan Mohanty, general manager of Industrial Promotion and Investment Corporation of Orissa Limited.
The project, when implemented, would provide employment to 200 people.
A proposal of Indo Pellets Private Limited for setting up a 6 mtpa iron ore benefication plant and a 2.4 mtpa pelletisation plant at a combined investment of Rs 916.73 crore was given the go ahead.
The project would provide direct employment to 350 people.
Besides, the authority allowed the proposal of Emami Cement to shift its Rs 401 crore plant to near Tangi in Cuttack.
