Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) B P Sethi has written a letter to all district collectors to send report of crop loss due to the unseasonal rain to the state government within November 25, the sources said.
Meanwhile, as the intensity of the low pressure induced rainfall declined across the state, state government officials today started visiting different areas to take stock of the crop situation, said the special relief commissioner.
The officials have been told to strictly adhere to the directions of the state government for assessment of crop damage, if any, due to rain, Sethi said.
The IMD in its report to the state government informed that rain and thundershower likely to occur at one or two places over different parts of the state till November 23.
IMD sources said average rainfall of 7.5 mm was recorded today. The highest rainfall of 52.4 mm was recorded in Kendrapara followed by 31.3 mm in Jagatsinghpur, 17.9 mm in Jajpur, 16.2 mm in Dhenkanal, 14.8 mm in Bhadrak, 11.7 mm in Cuttack, 11.5 mm in Puri, 11.3 mm in Nayagarh and 11.2 mm in Keonjhar.
