The decision in this regard was taken at a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik here.
While the regional directorate at Jaypore will look after colleges in Koraput, Nabarangpur, Malkangiri, Rayagada, Kalahandi and Nuapada districts, the Balasore regional directorate will look after colleges located in Bhadrak, Mayurbhanj and Keonjhar districts.
Three regional directorates are functioning from Bhubaneswar, Berhampur and Sambalpur at present.
These directorates look after publications of new course curriculum and also fix the remuneration of teachers as well as the non-teaching staff.
