The OERC in its March 4 order revoked the licence of the three distribution companies - NESCO, WESCO and SOUTHCO - of a power major on charge of "non-performance" prompting the power major to move the New Delhi-based Tribunal for redressal.
While admitting the petition of the power major, the New Delhi-based Tribunal yesterday asked OERC and the Odisha government to file their replies by March 17 and posted the next hearing in the case for March 24.
The Gridco CMD has already taken charge of the post of administrator and would function at present, Dhal said.
Though the private power major took management of the three distribution companies way back in 1999, it did not perform as expected, the OERC had claimed in its March 4 order.
Earlier in 2005, the OERC had suspended the licence of the same power major's three distribution companies.
The OERC's petition against the Tribunal had also been rejected by the Supreme Court then.
