Offender escapes from police custody, four cops suspended

Four police personnel were today placed under suspension in neighbouring Ranga Reddy district of Telangana on charge of negligence of duty after an offender escaped from their custody.
"We caught two chain snatchers yesterday and they were sent for medical examination at a Primary Health Centre and the four personnel attached to Nawabpet police station were deputed to guard them. However, one of the offenders managed to escape," Ranga Reddy District Superintendent of Police M Srinivas said.
"However, the police parties later succeeded in nabbing the escaped chain snatcher," the SP told PTI over phone.
The four police personnel includes an Assistant Sub-Inspector Kishataiah. Besides, a Head Constable and a Constable and a Home Guard were also suspended, he said.
