A case has been registered against sub-registrar at Bundi thesil here for allegedly making an objectionable comment against a Jain saint, police said here today.
Sub-registrar Badri Lal Rahtore has also been sent on Awaiting Posting Order (APO) and has been asked to be present at district collector office until further order, said Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Bundi city Ravi Verma .
DSP Bundi city, Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat said the sub-registrar allegedly made objectionable comment against the Jain saint Vishant Sagarji Maharaj, who is in the city, in front of one Lalit Jain and others in his office yesterday afternoon.
Lalit, a property dealer, had gone to sub-registrar office with a few of his business associates for some work.
Based on the complaint of Lalit, Rahtore has been booked under section 295 (A) of IPC for deliberately outraging religious feelings, the DSP said, adding he would be arrested after the enquiry into the matter is over.
When contacted, Rathore, who has taken two-day-leave after the incident, denied making any objectionable comment against the Jain sadhu.
"Lalit might have develop some grudge against me as I didn't approve some of his registry papers," Rathore alleged.
Meanwhile, demanding immediate arrest of the sub-registrar, Jain community members today called a bandh in the area. Due to which most of the markets in the city remained closed, however, no untoward incident has been reported, police said.
Later in the day, they also submit a memorandum in this regard to the district collector.
