Besides delivering the latest news from a galaxy far, far away, the application includes fun features such as Jedi selfies and Tatooine weather reports, according to the official Star Wars website.
The selfies feature allows users to superimpose their face onto popular characters from the Star Wars universe with their choice of backdrop.
Other features include a Lightsaber training simulation that has you swinging your handset around like a madman, a soundboard, and a collection of animated GIFs.
Fans can even adjust the apps theme to Light Side, Dark Side or Droid, depending on where their allegiance lies.
