Officials inspect arrangements for Kailash Mansarovar Yatra

A team of state government officials carried out inspection of facilities for Kailash Mansarovar Yatra through the Nathu La route in Sikkim, ahead of the commencement of the yatra, an official release said today.

A team of officers comprising of secretary and officials of Tourism and Civil Aviation Department recently conducted a joint inspection to review the preparedness of the Sikkim government for conducting Kailash Mansarovar Yatra via Nathu La, the Information and Public Relations department release said.

The team took stock of arrangements at acclimatization centres at 15th mile, 17th mile and Sherathang and interacted with ITBP officials and officials at Customs and Immigrations office at Nathu La with regard to Kailash Mansarovar Yatra, it said.

The issues of water supply, electricity and minor repairs were found to be completed at the acclimatization centres, the release said.

Sikkim is ready to receive the first batch of Kailash Mansarovar yatris, who will be reaching the state capital on June 15 next.

This year, Sikkim has been allotted 10 batches comprising 50 members in each batch subject to fulfilment of medical requisites, it said.
