Old woman strangulated to death by sons, other family members

A 65-year-old woman was murdered allegedly by four members of her family here, including two sons, over a property dispute, police said today.
The victim, identified as Gurmeet Kaur, was strangulated to death at her house here allegedly by her sons Inderjit Singh and Balbir Singh, Balbir's wife Kulbir Kaur, and Inderjit's brother-in-law Gurnam Singh last night, police said.
The interrogation revealed that the deceased had huge immovable properties in her favour on the basis of the will of her husband.
A civil litigation was also pending in the local court, in which the will, in favour of victim Gurmeet was challenged by the accused, but they had apprehension of loosing the case, police said.

"All the accused, after hatching a conspiracy killed the victim", police said.
After committing the crime, they fled from the spot, police said, efforts were on to nab them.
