"The Haunting of the Hill House" star Oliver Jackson-Cohen is set to play the lead role in "The Invisible Man" movie.
The Blumhouse-Universal Pictures project will be written, directed and executive produced by Leigh Whannell, reported Variety.
The film is about Universal Pictures' classic monster character, first portrayed by Claude Rains in the studio's 1933 film.
The story was based on H G Wells' science-fiction novel about a chemist who has discovered the secret of invisibility while conducting a series of tests involving an obscure drug called monocane.
The new film also features Elisabeth Moss, Aldis Hodge, Harriet Dyer and Storm Reid.
The film will get into producition in Sydney, Australia, later this month.
Universal Pictures is planning to release the movie on March 13, 2020.
Jason Blum is producing the film for his Blumhouse Productions along with Goalpost Pictures' Kylie du Fresne.
The film is a co-production of Goalpost Pictures Australia and Blumhouse Productions, in association with Nervous Tick for Universal Pictures.
