"There is the need of preservation and protection of water bodies and health resorts," Omar said while reviewing the works being executed by Surinsar-Mansar and Patnitop Development Authorities here last evening.
He said that the attraction and natural beauty of these places should not get hampered while execution of necessary infrastructural development and beautification works.
The chief minister was informed that various beautification projects involving about Rs 14 crores are being executed in the Surinsar-Mansar area.
It was stated that under the works programme for the year 2012 Rs 2.25 crore have been earmarked and an amount of about Rs 60 lakhs has been incurred out of it on various works by the end of November 2012.
The chief minister also reviewed the progress of several projects executed by Patnitop Development Authority (PDA) in another meeting.
