One-and-half-year-old girl raped by uncle

A one-and-half-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her uncle in Vapi town of Valsad district, police said today.
The incident took place last night. The accused allegedly raped the baby when her parents left her in his custody for some time, they said.
"We have arrested the accused, a driver working with Vapi municipality, in connection with the rape of the baby girl," an official at Vapi Police Station said.
"The accused visited their house and raped the girl when her parents were away," police said, adding the victim is admitted to the city civic hospital.
A case under section 376 (rape) of IPC and relevant sections of of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act has been registered in this regard, the official said.

The girl's father is a migrant from Nepal and works as a watchman in Vapi town, police said.
