One arrested for hitting traffic constable

One person was arrested for allegedly beating a traffic constable when he was stopped and asked for papers of his two-wheeler in the central part of the city late this evening, the police said.
Bikash Singh was arrested by the cops of Jorasanko police station at around 9.30 PM for allegedly hitting a traffic constable when he was stopped on Mahatma Gandhi Road and asked for papers, the said.
"Singh was riding his two-wheeler without helmet and was stopped for that offence. He also had no papers for the vehicle he was riding... And then there was an altercation following which, Singh hit the constable," an officer said.
Singh has been booked under IPC section 353 and would be produced at a city court tomorrow, he added.
