Acting on a tip-off, the city police searched the house of one Shekur Khan, alias Sheru Nawab Khan (40), in Mahakali Nagar and found two country-made guns along with 20 live bullets and used cartridges, the police said.
The accused is a resident of Chaudameta in Chhindwara district of Madhya Pradesh and has been staying at Mahakali Nagar.
The police said the estimated cost of the two guns is collectively around Rs 16,000 and cartridges worth Rs 5000.
Khan has been booked under Indian Arms Act and others relevant provisions of law relating to illegal possession of arms.
