Sunil has been arrested while a search is underway for his two associates, Sanni and Titu, Baghpat SP Sharad Sachan said today.
The SP said Sunil, a resident of Bawli village in Baghpat district, has confessed to the crime.
According to police, members of the community were thrashed on May 1 by five youths on board a Delhi-Kandhla train.
After the incident, angry protesters from the community gheraoed the Kandhla police station and pelted stones besides setting some vehicles on fire on May 2.
