One Assam Rifles personnel injured in Tuesday's explosion

The Assam Rifles today denied the earlier reports that two of its jawans had been killed in an explosion on August 26.
An Assam Rifles official today said that havildar Jagdish Chander (49) was injured in the bomb explosion in the Old Somtal area of Interior Chandel district at around 5.30 am last Tuesday.
Chander who is now in an Army hospital at Leimakhong was out of danger, the officials said.
Yesterday, state police had said two Assam Rifles personnel were killed and one was injured.
Major insurgent outfit United National Liberation Front earlier claimed that they had planted the bomb to attack the security personnel.
