One beaten to death, another seriously injured in Katra

A 23-year-old youth was beaten to death while another was seriously injured after they were attacked with sticks by four persons today in Katra town of Jammu and Kashmir's Reasi district.
Rahul Kumar breathed his last on way to hospital whereas another victim, identified as Abhishek Kapoor (22), is battling for his life at Government Medical College and Hospital (GMC) Jammu, a police officer said.
Three accused, identified as Pawan Singh, Vikram Singh, Kaka Ram, have been arrested. Fourth accused Sukh Dev Singh is still at large, he said.
Preliminary investigations revealed that Rahul and Abhishek, both residents of Udhampur, had come to meet a girl in Katra town when they were attacked by the accused.

"The four accused started beating the duo with sticks, seriously injuring them. Rahul succumbed to injuries while on way to the hospital," the officer said, adding a murder case has been registered against the alleged attackers.
