A man was killed and around 15 others injured, three of them seriously, when the private bus they were travelling in overturned in Mahasamund district of Chhattisgarh on Saturday, police said.
The incident took place around 3 pm under Tendukona police station limits when the bus, with 25 passengers on board, was going towards Pithora town from Bagbahra in the district, a police official told PTI.
According to passengers, the bus was speeding and its driver lost control over it at Urridongri curve due to which the vehicle overturned and skidded off the road, he added.
"A passenger died on the spot and around 15 others were injured. They were taken to a community health centre in Pithora. Three of them are said to be in a critical condition," he added.
A case has been registered in this connection, he said, adding that the deceased passenger was yet to be identified.
