One dead, another injured as express train hits earthmover

One person died today while another seriously injured when the earthmover they were travelling in was hit by the Jabalpur express at an unmanned level crossing near Mallathahalli in Bangalore Rural district, police said.
The incident occurred around 1:30 PM, they said, adding, one person died on the way to the hospital while the seriously injured was shifted to Bangalore.
No passenger in the train was injured but the engine of the train was damaged, they said.
