One person was killed and two others were injured in a blast in a house in Chandor village near Margao town, 40 km from here, this afternoon.
However, sources in the police department said that it did not look like a blast carried out by terrorists.
The material that exploded was gelatin, they added. There were stone quarries in the area, where gelatin is commonly used.
Deputy Inspector General of Police O P Mishra earlier said that one person was dead while two others were seriously injured, but details and cause of the blasts would be known only later.
Top police officers were at the spot.
