The band, comprising of Niall Horan, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson, Zayn Malik and Harry Styles, wish to holiday after wrapping up their Take Me Home world tour.
But their management wants them to come up with their next album as soon as possible, reported Daily Star.
"The boys are working incredibly hard and are in desperate need of some time off. They want to take a full four months off at the end of the year but the management are keen for them to release another album while they are such a hot property.
The band's management does not want the teenage sensation to stay away from the minds of their fans for long.
"But the management knows the group can't take too much time off to make the next record like Adele does because teenage fans are so fickle," the source added.
