A 36-year-old man died while another is feared drowned after their car plunged into a stream of a waterfall near Koynanagar in Satara district of Maharashtra, police said on Sunday.
According to local police, six friends were returning in two separate cars after visiting Koynanagar area. The accident occurred on Saturday night when one of the cars carrying the two men fell into the stream of the Pabalnala waterfall.
"The car carrying the two men plunged into the stream of the Pabalnala waterfall and was swept away due to sharp current of waters following heavy rainfall in the region," an officer said.
While the body of one person has been found another person is still missing.
The officer said the car's wreckage was found in a deep gorge.
"The search operation is on to trace the missing person," he added.
