Naseem Suleiman Khan, was initially detained for questioning and later apprehended by the sleuths from unit 4 of the crime branch in connection with the murder of a 28-year-old woman Sabina Khan, a senior police official said.
Several gold and silver valuables were also found in his possession. Acting on a tip-off, a trap was laid near the Sion railway station. He was held when he was walking near it, police said.
He was questioned about his residence and the valuables he was carrying in a plastic bag. No satisfying answers were given. During questioning, he revealed that he had killed Sabina, they said.
Locals and the UP police had found her body.
The deceased was missing and a complaint was lodged at the Ghatkopar police station.
A case under relevant sections of IPC is registered and investigations are underway, police said.
