Police, on information that some persons with large amount of cash were staying in a hotel near Town Hall here, raided the hotel late last night. They nabbed one Adiseshan of Tiruchirapalli and seized Rs 28 lakh from his possession.
On interrogation, Adiseshan revealed that he along with three others had diverted the attention of the driver who was standing near the car on October 11 by throwing some money on the road and fled with a bag containing Rs 40 lakh.
A search is on for his three accomplices, police said.
