"Two groups clashed over playing Holi at Katajang Bhupen Lodh lane near Kalyani area in which six persons were injured," Sub-Divisional Police Officer Kalyani Chandrasekhar Bardhan said.
They were rushed to Kalyani JNM Hospital where one of the injured, Subal Das, succumbed to his injuries, the officer said, adding, police are probing the matter.
According to locals of Bhupen Lodh Lane some outsiders came to their area at around 12.30 pm and allegedly attempted to rub 'gulal' and colours on them against their wishes.
