One person was killed and another injured when a state transport bus collided with another ST bus near here, police said today.
The mishap took place last night at village Bhoyar, 20km from here.
The impact of the crash was so severe that the deceased passenger's head got severed from the rest of his body, they said.
One of the buses involved in the mishap was on its way to Yavatmal from Akola, while the other one was going to Pusad in Yavatmal district from Nagpur. The deceased and the injured were travelling in the Akola-Yavatmal bus.
The driver of the AkolaYavatmal bus, Ramu Punaji Jadhav, was arrested and booked for rash driving, the police said.
He was today produced before a local court which released him on bail.
