A group of pedestrians was hit by the bus on the Pedana-Gudivada road, killing one of them on the spot, a senior police official said.
Three others, who sustained injuries were shifted to the Machilipatnam Government Hospital, the officer said, adding the bus driver was apprehended.
The deceased was identified as V.Ramakrishna, he said, adding a case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code was registered.
