Gokul Sahariya, aged 30, who had gone to irrigate his field in the night, was found dead this morning in Naya Gaon Gangaura village in Lalitpur district, police said.
He died due to exposure to cold, they said.
Light rains occurred at some places in the state where minimum temperatures rose in Lucknow, Gorakhpur, Kanpur, Varanasi, Faizabad, Agra, Bareilly, Jhansi and Meerut divisions, the weather office said.
Najibabad in Bijnore was the coldest place in the state recording a low of five degrees Celsius, it said.
