The mother of the year-old child had made her sleep in a room along with her two-year-old son and went for washing clothes, they said.
Later she found the child missing and searched the entire neighbourhood in vain.
When her husband, a goldsmith, returned from work, he found the baby lying in the bucket filled with water, police said.
